    Hydrogen cars are becoming more and more popular as car manufacturers are heeding the call to become more energy efficient. Last week there were a few posts regarding various initiatives, namely Norway's HyNor and California's Hydrogen Highway Network, which looked at how these two places were working on ways to bring the technologies of hydrogen to their locations. Today, I thought we would end the month by looking at various hydrogen vehicles that are currently manufactured.

    In yesterday's post, we started looking at the helpful tips that the Department of Energy's Building Technologies Program provides on their website to assist in making various types of buildings more energy efficient. Because the department has been obliging enough to provide tips for 10 different types of buildings, we are splitting this up over the next couple of days. Yesterday we looked solutions for single family homes, multifamily homes, and office buildings, and today we will continue this series.

    Part of the Department of Energy is the Building Technologies Program. The purpose of this program is to improve on how various buildings across the United States use energy efficiently. The Department of Energy has provided energy saving tips in regards to 10 different types of buildings. Today we will look at 3 of these, and continue through the next several dayson the remaining building types. I have left the links that the department provides within the tips so you can find more detailed information about each one.
  • The Proposed Climate Protection Plan of Cincinnati
    In what is likely an attempt to jump on board with the rest of the nation's plans to utilize renewable energy sources, the mayor of Cincinnati has proposed a plan that outlines a 2 percent greenhouse gas emissions reduction each year all the way through to 2028. His climate protection plan was unanimously approved of by the committee that Mayor Mark Mallory appointed lastNovember.
  • The Hydrogen Road of Norway
    In the last post, the focus was on California's Hydrogen Highway Network initiative. This one will look at a similar initiative, but on a global scale. HyNor, the Hydrogen Road of Norway, joins various industries together in order to accomplish a goal that has been in the making for several years. Although 2008 is the final year of this project it began in 2005. The beginning conceptualization started 2 years prior that in 2003.

    Back in 2004, California began its Hydrogen Highway Network (CaH2Net) initiative with several hopes in mind. According to their official website, "the mission of the CaH2Net is to support and catalyze a rapid transitionto a clean, hydrogen transportation economy in California.

The wind power is generated Energy Future Holding Corp's TXU Energy. The other 40 percent of Dell's green power is made possible via Waste Management's landfill gas to energy plant.
